Letter to the Brexiters

Dear Brexiters,

Congratulations. You've managed to isolate an already isolated country from the rest of the world.

Congratulations for turning your back on the millions of immigrants who have supported UK's economic growth for decades. If you voted 'leave' you know sh%t about the way economy works and the reason why Britain was an economic power in this last decade

Congratulations for going upstream against the trend of uniting countries and human beings.

Congratulations for allowing the pound to hit a 30-year low.

Congratulations if you vote 'leave' to protect yourself from those foreign devils who come to your country with the evil intentions of stealing your money and live off government benefits (?). Perhaps you should reconsider your position - especially if you think that unskilled workers who can barely speak the language are a threat to your job.

Seriously, who would vote for leaving when those dumbasses of UKIP were leading the leave campaing with stupid "arguments" such as "Britain is stronger", "Stop immigration", etc?

Needless to say, the consequences of Brexit for Science are devastating: funding will be extinguished (e.g. ERC grants and other EU-based funds), scientists will have a hard time with mobility as stricter immigration rules will be approved by the tories and their conservative friends.

It saddens me to see a country such as the UK being so naive to think they would be better off alone. Even if this were the case, integration not separatism is the next step in the social evolution ladder.

On the plus side Scotland will now very likely gain independence and join the EU. Maybe even join the Euro. The pound is gonna be worthless after that.

For analysing things rationally and making such a smart decision, I congratulate the Brexiters again.

Now the only thing left to do is to minimise the losses and start getting ready for the consequences (which might include economic recession).
